Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allocated Rs. 3,962 crore for the energy sector in the Annual Budget 2025-26, focusing on power infrastructure, renewable energy, and energy security.
Key Budgetary Allocations for Energy:
- Mukhya Mantri Shakti Bikash Yojana: Rs. 1,033 crore to enhance power distribution networks and rural electrification.
- Mukhya Mantri Shakti Sanrakshana Abhiyan: Rs. 127 crore for energy conservation and safety initiatives.
- Odisha Akshaya Shakti Bikash Yojana: Rs. 1,093 crore for renewable energy projects, including Rs. 890 crore for PM-Surya Ghar.
- Share Capital Investment in OPGC: Rs. 429 crore to strengthen power generation.
- Working Capital Loan to GRIDCO: Rs. 512 crore to improve financial stability and ensure uninterrupted power supply.
