Odisha Braces for Early and Intense Summer as Temperatures Soar

Bhubaneswar: Even as February has just begun, Odisha is already witnessing a sharp rise in temperatures, signaling an early and intense summer ahead. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Bhubaneswar recorded 34.4°C at 2:30 PM on Sunday, giving residents a glimpse of the scorching heat they may have to endure in the coming weeks.

Several parts of the state have been experiencing a steady rise in both day and night temperatures over the past three days. Bolangir recorded the highest temperature at 36.67°C, followed by Titilagarh (36°C), Parlakhemundi (35.8°C), Jharsuguda (35.6°C), Sambalpur (35.1°C), and Bhawanipatna (35°C).

Although no significant weather changes are expected soon, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in at least 10 districts over the next two mornings. Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal are likely to experience reduced visibility due to foggy conditions.

As Odisha prepares for a prolonged summer, authorities urge people to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take necessary precautions to combat rising temperatures.
