Odisha Approves Rs 32,736 Crore Investment Across Eight Transformative Projects

Bhubaneswar: The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of the Odisha government, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved eight transformative industrial projects amounting to an investment of Rs 32,736 crore. The decision, made during the 39th HLCA meeting on January 19, is expected to generate employment for over 18,688 people and drive significant economic growth in the state.

The approved projects span diverse sectors, including chemicals, green energy equipment, shipbuilding, repair, and steel. They will be distributed across Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Sambalpur, and Bhadrak districts, ensuring balanced regional development and boosting the state’s industrial landscape.

Highlighting the state’s ambitious vision, Chief Minister Majhi posted on X (formerly Twitter), “These initiatives will generate 18,688 jobs and boost Odisha’s industrial growth across sectors like chemicals, green energy, shipbuilding, and steel. As we prepare for #UtkarshOdisha 2025, these approvals bring us closer to realizing our vision of #SamrudhaOdisha2036. Together, we are building a sustainable and prosperous future for our state.”

This marks the second HLCA meeting of the month, held strategically ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 Conclave, a major event aimed at attracting investments and showcasing Odisha’s potential as a hub for innovation and sustainability.

The HLCA also underscored its commitment to promoting green technologies and sustainability, with the approved projects expected to have a transformative impact on the state’s economy. The government anticipates that these initiatives will not only attract further investments but also create substantial job opportunities and position Odisha as a leader in industrial innovation.
