Odisha approves ₹4,574-crore investment proposals across 11 districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha took another step towards expanding its industrial base on Tuesday with the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approving 23 new investment proposals worth ₹4,573.87 crore. The projects, spread across multiple sectors, are expected to generate 22,873 employment opportunities and strengthen industrial growth in 11 districts.

The proposals were cleared during the 148th meeting of the SLSWCA chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The approved investments cover sectors including IT and IT-enabled services, renewable energy, battery manufacturing, chemicals, textiles, food processing, steel downstream industries, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, infrastructure and tourism.

Among the marquee investments, HCL Technologies Ltd will establish a Global Development Centre in Khordha with an investment of ₹730 crore, creating around 6,000 jobs. In the renewable energy sector, ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt Ltd will invest ₹778 crore to set up a two-phase alkaline electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Ganjam with an annual production capacity of up to 3 GW, generating 480 employment opportunities.

The textile and apparel sector emerged as the largest employment generator. SAPL Industries Pvt Ltd, SPL Industries Ltd and Richa Global Exports Pvt Ltd will establish ready-made garment manufacturing units in Puri, together creating more than 10,000 jobs. Astha Cotspin Pvt Ltd will also set up a textile manufacturing unit in Balangir.

Several projects were approved in the chemicals sector, including a specialty chemicals unit by Transpek Industry Ltd in Ganjam, a rare earth mineral processing facility by Tirupati Microtech Pvt Ltd in Jajpur, a chromium chemicals plant by Krebs International Ltd in Mayurbhanj and an integrated manufacturing facility by Growing Tree Oil & Refinery Pvt Ltd in Nuapada. The company also received approval for a dairy products manufacturing unit in Cuttack.

In the steel and manufacturing sector, Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Pvt Ltd and RAG Industries Pvt Ltd will establish galvanised wire and steel processing units in Sundargarh and Khordha, respectively. EFYIONDX Pvt Ltd will set up a biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment manufacturing facility in Khordha.

Infrastructure proposals include Tata Steel Ltd’s 5 MTPA railway siding project in Keonjhar, a logistics park by Lingaraj Translogistics Pvt Ltd in Sundargarh and an integrated logistics park with rooftop solar power facilities by Sri Jaibalajee Agro Products Pvt Ltd.

The SLSWCA also approved a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital by DION Riverside Township Pvt Ltd in Cuttack, besides two five-star hotels in Cuttack and Sambalpur and a luxury lake-view resort in Khordha to boost the state’s healthcare and tourism infrastructure.

According to the state government, the projects will be implemented across Anugul, Balangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Puri and Sundargarh, reflecting its continued focus on attracting diversified investments, creating jobs and ensuring balanced industrial development through the Single Window Clearance System.
