Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed on Friday that the state government is set to launch a new pension scheme for the families of freedom fighters under the ‘Kutumba’ Scheme.
The announcement came during the Kranti Divas celebration, marking the anniversary of the Quit India Movement. Chief Minister Majhi highlighted that the scheme aims to provide financial support to the descendants of those who fought for India’s independence from British rule.
Majhi acknowledged the persistent demand for such a program and assured that the government is actively working on finalizing the details. “We are dedicated to honoring our freedom fighters by ensuring their families receive the recognition and support they deserve,” he said, underscoring the scheme as a significant tribute to the state’s freedom fighters.
This new pension scheme under ‘Kutumba’ is expected to bring much-needed financial relief to the families of those who sacrificed for the nation’s freedom, further solidifying their legacy in Odisha’s history.
