
New Delhi: In a pivotal move for the integration of Ayurveda with modern education and technology, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, and Amity University, Noida, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further their collaboration in education, research, and technology. The MoU, signed on Thursday, extends the ongoing five-year agreement between the two institutions.
The agreement was formalized by AIIA Director Prof. Tanuja Nesari and Asha Premnath, Joint Registrar of Amity University, under the leadership of Amity University Chancellor, Dr. Atul Chauhan, and the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
The signing ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor of Amity University; Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President of Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation; and Dr. B.C. Das, Dean, along with other senior members from Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.
The MoU aims to foster collaborative education programs, publications, and joint projects in capacity-building. It focuses on promoting academic excellence, technological advancements, and the development of state-of-the-art programs. Key aspects of the MoU include the exchange of students and faculty for academic, research, and training purposes.
Prof. Tanuja Nesari highlighted that the MoU aligns with the Prime Minister’s Vision 2047 for a developed India, noting that this agreement represents a significant milestone in advancing the field of Ayurveda through collaborative knowledge-sharing and research.
AIIA has previously signed 40 MoUs with national-level technical institutions and universities, including esteemed institutes like IIT and CSIR, to bolster research and documentation in Ayurveda. The institute has also established 17 international MoUs with renowned global institutions.
The event was further supported by senior AIIA faculty members including Prof. Manjusha Rajagopala, Head of the Department of Shalakya Tantra; MS Prof. Anandaraman Sharma; and other senior faculty. Dr. Shivani Ghildiyal, Associate Professor, Department of Dravyaguna, coordinated the ceremony.
