The decision was made public by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during the Local Self-Governance Day celebrations held at the Railway Auditorium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
The Chief Minister said the move would enable better planning, infrastructure development, and access to civic services in fast-growing towns and semi-urban regions. He stressed that the government’s priority is to bring administrative support closer to the people and ensure balanced urban growth.
