
New Delhi: NMDC Ltd., India’s largest iron ore producer and a Navratna public sector company, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Award’ for 2023-2024 in the category of Undertakings situated in the “C” region. The award was presented at the Hindi Diwas Function 2024 and Fourth Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasha Sammelan, organized by the Official Language Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, in New Delhi.
G. Priyadarshini, Chief General Manager (Personnel & Administration) of NMDC, accepted the award on behalf of the company from Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs. The event was graced by Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, and Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Rajya Sabha.
On receiving the award, Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge) of NMDC, expressed pride in the company’s achievements. He remarked, “This recognition underscores NMDC’s ongoing commitment to promoting the use of Hindi and excelling in its implementation of the official language policy. We take pride in our efforts to uphold and enhance the national language in our operations.”
NMDC has consistently been at the forefront of promoting Hindi and has previously received several Rajbhasha Awards for its contributions. Notably, NMDC has earned recognition from the Ministry of Steel’s Ispat Rajbhasha Samman, securing the top position in its category. The company’s efforts have also been acknowledged by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee for PSEs in Hyderabad, Telangana.
