Nitin Gadkari Initiates Rs 8,038 Crore Worth National Highway Projects in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, marked a significant infrastructure development by laying the foundation stones for 15 National Highway projects in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The projects, collectively valued at Rs 8,038 crore and spanning 499 km, were inaugurated in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, and other dignitaries.
The 15 National Highway projects include the widening of the Ayodhya bypass section, 4-lane expansion of the Budhni to Shahganj segment, 4-lane widening from Shahganj to Bari, and the construction of bypasses in Morena, Ambah, and Porsa. Additionally, a 2-lane construction project for Sheopur Gorsa from the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border is part of the initiative.
The widening of the Budhni to Shahganj section aims to enhance connectivity within the state. This development is expected to connect Sehore and Raisen, linking three crucial highways in Madhya Pradesh. The widening of the Ayodhya bypass section is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion, benefiting passengers traveling from Kanpur to Bhopal.
The infrastructure projects align with the broader vision of Madhya Pradesh emerging as a new industrial and agricultural hub. The construction, reconstruction, and widening of roads contribute significantly to this developmental thrust.
Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, State President of Madhya Pradesh BJP Shri V.D. Sharma, State Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, and State Minister Shri Rakesh Singh graced the occasion.
The cumulative investment of Rs 8,038 crore underscores the scale and significance of these infrastructure projects, reinforcing the government’s commitment to robust transportation networks. The road projects are poised to facilitate industrial and agricultural growth in the region, contributing to the economic development of Madhya Pradesh.
