NHAI and Geological Survey of India (GSI) Sign MoU for Geotechnical Consultancy
New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geological Survey of India (GSI) to enhance the development of a robust National Highways network. The MoU aims to facilitate geotechnical consultancy services and vetting of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) from a geotechnical perspective.
GSI will provide services such as the preparation of geological maps, detailed analysis of geological features, slope stability studies, identification of geologically weak zones, and recommendations for site-specific remedial measures.
GSI will conduct 3D geological logging of tunnels within the project and propose relevant stabilization measures. GSI will undertake a detailed analysis of DPRs prepared by NHAI consultants, offering valuable insights from a geotechnical standpoint.
The collaboration between NHAI and GSI is expected to contribute to the construction of high-quality National Highways, ensuring easier operations and maintenance. The partnership emphasizes the importance of sharing best practices between government organizations to enhance the overall infrastructure and travel experience for National Highway users.
