Nepali Army Chief Honored with Honorary Rank of General of the Indian Army

Delhi: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, conferred the Honorary Rank of General of the Indian Army upon Suprabal Janasewashree General Ashok Raj Sigdel, Chief of the Army Staff of the Nepali Army, at a special Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

The prestigious honor was bestowed in recognition of General Sigdel’s commendable military prowess and his invaluable contributions to strengthening the historic and friendly ties between Nepal and India. This tradition of conferring honorary ranks reflects the longstanding camaraderie and deep-rooted relationship shared by the armies of the two neighboring nations.
