National Forensic Sciences University to Set Up New Campus in Khordha, Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced the establishment of a new campus for the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Khordha, Odisha. The decision was made official through a gazette notification issued on Wednesday, marking a major milestone in enhancing forensic education and research in the region.

The new campus will be set up in line with the National Forensic Sciences University Act, 2020. NFSU, which currently operates campuses in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Raipur, Chhattisgarh, will now extend its reach to Odisha, bringing cutting-edge forensic sciences education to the state.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Union Home Ministry for selecting Khordha as the site for the new campus. He welcomed the initiative, emphasizing that the establishment of the campus will significantly improve forensic education, research, and investigative capabilities within the region.

“This new campus will not only contribute to the strengthening of forensic infrastructure in Odisha but will also play a crucial role in fostering a safer and more just society. The presence of NFSU will empower local law enforcement agencies and provide state-of-the-art training to professionals in the field,” Majhi stated.

The Chief Minister further highlighted that the campus would create numerous opportunities for students in Odisha and neighboring regions, offering them access to world-class education in forensic science, technology, and investigation.
