New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with MyGov, has launched an online contest to engage the public in bringing Indian tunes to the forefront during the Beating Retreat Ceremony at Vijay Chowk on January 29, 2024. The contest, scheduled from January 22 to January 29, invites participants to create video clips of themselves performing the tunes of the Beating Retreat Ceremony, either through vocal or instrumental modes.
The salient features of the contest are that the tunes (along with lyrics) are available on the MyGov platform, participants can upload video clips of 45-60 seconds on a dedicated platform on the MyGov portal and the contest is divided into two categories: Vocal and Instrumental.
The prize money for vocal category and instrumental category are Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 for first, second and third winners.
Terms & Conditions:
- Participation is open only to Indian citizens.
- Individuals can participate only once in the contest.
- Participants need to provide necessary personal information, and invalid contact details will result in disqualification.
- Winners must submit valid documents (proof of identity, age, address, and bank details) after the announcement of results.
- The same mobile number and email ID cannot be used more than once for participation.
The Ministry of Defence aims to encourage public participation in promoting the rich musical heritage of India during the prestigious Beating Retreat Ceremony. The contest is an opportunity for individuals to showcase their vocal or instrumental talents and contribute to the cultural celebration.
