
Bhubaneswar: In a groundbreaking move, the Mission Shakti department has joined forces with DAFE & IRRI, focusing on rice-based native varieties renowned for their aromatic essence. This strategic collaboration aims to produce nutritionally enriched rice-based and mixed-value food products, including cookies, snacks, muesli, pasta, and noodles.
Additionally, a mini millet factory will be established to bolster the capacity-building of SHGs in food processing and entrepreneurship. The MoU marks a significant step towards enhancing opportunities for women-led ventures in the rice-based food industry, fostering economic growth and entrepreneurship.
The second day of Krushi Odisha 2024 witnessed a pivotal session on SHG-led Entrepreneurship through agri-enterprises at Janta Maidan, Bhubaneswar.
Minister Basanti Hembram addressed the gathering, and a panel discussion chaired by Sujata R. Karthikeyan featured distinguished panelists, including Jayashree Palei, Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Monalisha Gandhi, and Prof. Punyadarshini Triparty from IIT Kharagpur. More than 1,500 women agri-preneurs actively participated in this insightful session.
The event concluded with the distribution of work orders to SHGs for various projects, such as Mini rice mill, Dal mill, Oil mill, Rubber roll Sheller-cum-Polisher, and MKUY projects. Mission Shakti continues to empower women agri-preneurs, paving the way for transformative change in Odisha.
