Ministry of Tribal Affairs Wins Best Tableau Award at 76th Republic Day Parade

New Delhi: The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has been awarded the Best Tableau among Central Ministries and Departments at the 76th Republic Day Parade 2025. The tableau, themed Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh”, paid tribute to the 150th birth anniversary year of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, celebrating the strength, resilience, and cultural heritage of India’s tribal communities.

The tableau’s striking visuals featured a majestic Sal tree, symbolizing the deep-rooted connection between tribal communities and nature. With “Jal, Jungle, Jameen” as its central theme, it showcased the wisdom of tribal traditions and their vital contributions to the nation’s freedom struggle and development. The vibrant Paika dance from Jharkhand and the rhythmic beats of Nagada from Chhattisgarh captivated audiences, echoing the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Shreshtha Bharat.

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, calling it a tribute to the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the diverse tribal heritage of India. “This award reaffirms our commitment to empowering tribal communities through initiatives like PM-JANMAN, Dharti Aaba Abhiyan, and Eklavya Schools, ensuring their holistic development. A Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved without honoring and uplifting our tribal communities,” he stated.

Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durga Das Uikey, highlighted the significance of the award, emphasizing that it acknowledges the crucial role of tribal communities in shaping the nation. “Their contributions are woven into the fabric of India’s history, and this recognition will continue to inspire generations,” he said.

Vibhu Nayar, Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, applauded the collective effort behind the tableau’s success. “This moment of pride strengthens our resolve to promote and preserve tribal art, culture, and heritage on both national and global platforms,” he remarked.

The Ministry extended its heartfelt gratitude to the people of India for their support and appreciation. “This honour belongs to every tribal community whose stories of struggle and triumph continue to shape India’s cultural and historical identity,” the statement read.
