Ministry of MSME Launches First Yashasvini Awareness Campaign for Women Entrepreneurs in Jaipur

Jaipur: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development and the Women Entrepreneurship Platform, launched the first Yashasvini Awareness Campaign for women entrepreneurs at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur.

The campaign brought together representatives from various sectors, including the State Government, State Rural Livelihood Mission, SIDBI, CGTMSE, banks, and Central Public Sector Undertakings. Over 650 women entrepreneurs, predominantly from the informal sector and Self Help Groups (SHGs), participated in the event.

A significant highlight of the event was the provision of on-the-spot registration assistance by various agencies for Udyam registration, Udyam Assist Platform, and PM Vishwakarma initial registration. The participating women entrepreneurs showed a keen interest in the Ministry’s initiatives and eagerly engaged in the registration process.

In his address, Union Minister for MSME Jitan Ram Manjhi emphasized the pivotal role of women in the economy, acknowledging their historical confinement to unpaid and unrecognized work within the home. He lauded the strides women have made across various fields and encouraged the women entrepreneurs of Rajasthan to leverage the benefits of MSME schemes. He highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, its cuisine, arts, and crafts, and shared inspiring success stories of women who transformed tiny enterprises into export-oriented businesses. He urged financial institutions to develop women-friendly credit products to enhance access to credit for women entrepreneurs.

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for MSME, addressed the women from SHGs and the informal sector, commending their significant contribution to the Indian economy. She praised the SHG movement in India as a landmark, internationally acclaimed initiative. She emphasized the innate qualities of women, such as multitasking and financial discipline, which make them adept at starting and managing enterprises. She reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to addressing challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, including lack of access to credit, markets, and technology, and highlighted women entrepreneurship as a driver for India’s progress towards Viksit Bharat.

Krishan Kumar Vishnoi, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Government of Rajasthan, expressed gratitude to the Government of India for organizing the inaugural Yashasvini campaign in Jaipur. He outlined the Rajasthan Government’s initiatives for industrial development, particularly for women entrepreneurs.

Dr. Ranjeesh, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner, MSME, Government of India, also addressed the gathering. The program included technical sessions on various government initiatives aimed at facilitating women entrepreneurs’ access to credit, markets, and capacity building. The event saw a substantial turnout of women registering for Udyam Registration, PM Vishwakarma, GeM, and more. Stalls by SIDBI, banks, KVIC, and NSIC attracted significant interest from all participants.
