Odisha Govt Appoints Pitambar Acharya as New Advocate General

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Government has appointed senior lawyer Pitambar Acharya as the Advocate General of Odisha, effective immediately. This decision was announced through a special notification issued by the Law Department today.

The official notification states, “The Governor of Odisha is pleased to appoint Pitambar Acharya, Senior Advocate, High Court of Orissa, to be the Advocate General for the State of Odisha with immediate effect.”

This appointment follows a period of interim leadership in the role. In June, the State Government had appointed Jyoti Prakash Patnaik as the in-charge Advocate General after the resignation of Ashok Parija, which occurred following a change in the state government.
