
Bhubaneswar: Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of Railways, will inaugurate the new Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore MEMU train service, mark the dedication of the Balasore-Gopinathpur Nilgiri passenger line, and lay the foundation stone for a subway. Additionally, the minister will inaugurate the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) booking counter at Betnoti railway station.
The introduction of the new passenger line between Gopinathpur Nilgiri and Balasore heralds a significant milestone, offering the local populace access to passenger train services for the first time. Commencing operations, three pairs of MEMU trains will ply this route daily, enhancing connectivity for the residents.
The PRS counter at Betnoti station is poised to streamline the ticket booking process for passengers in the region, ensuring a more convenient and organized reservation system.
In a commitment to passenger safety and comfort, a subway will be constructed at Betnoti Station. This vital infrastructure addition aims to facilitate smooth passenger movement, allowing residents to traverse the station without the need to cross the railway tracks.
The initiatives are part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Railways to enhance connectivity, improve passenger amenities, and ensure the safety of railway commuters. The inauguration ceremony will mark the beginning of improved rail services, benefiting the local community and contributing to the overall development of the region.
