Military Leaders Convene at Commandants’ Conclave to Shape Future Defence Strategies

Pune: The Military Institute of Technology, Pune, played host to the sixth edition of the Commandants’ Conclave, organized under the auspices of HQ Integrated Defence Staff on May 7, 2024. The event saw the participation of Commandants from prestigious Armed Forces Training Institutions (AFTIs) and War Colleges, alongside senior leadership from the Armed Forces, who collectively deliberated on shaping the trajectory of future defence strategies and grooming the next generation of leaders for the Indian Armed Forces.

Gathering at MILIT, Pune, the esteemed delegates engaged in an exchange of insights, sharing of best practices observed at their respective institutions, and strategic planning aimed at fortifying the Armed Forces for the challenges of tomorrow. This conclave underscored the unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces to continual refinement, innovation, and collaborative efforts in the face of evolving global dynamics.

The event served as a pivotal platform for Commandants and decision-makers from AFTIs to engage in candid dialogue and discussions, focusing on fostering a joint culture of learning and embracing cutting-edge technologies in the training of future military leaders. A wide array of topics pertaining to strategic resilience, technological advancements, human capital development, interoperability, and jointness were deliberated upon, with a view to harnessing innovation and leveraging the best practices of institutions to ensure world-class training standards across AFTIs.
