
Chandinagar: The successful completion of training for Air Force Special Forces ‘Garud’ Commandos was commemorated with a Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade on May 18, 2024, at the Garud Regimental Training Centre (GRTC), Air Force Station Chandinagar. Air Marshal PK Vohra, Senior Air Staff Officer, Western Air Command, presided as the Reviewing Officer for the parade.
The Reviewing Officer congratulated the Garuds on their successful training completion, emphasizing the significance of rigorous training and the honing of Special Forces skills to adapt to evolving security scenarios. He presented the Maroon Beret, Garud Proficiency Badge, and Special Forces Tabs to the accomplished Garud trainees, also recognizing their achievements with trophies. Flight Lieutenant Shashwat Rana was honored with the best all-rounder trophy for his exceptional performance.
As part of the ceremony, the Garuds showcased their combat firing skills, hostage rescue tactics, firing drills, assault explosives handling, obstacle crossing drills, wall climbing, slithering, rappelling, and military martial arts techniques.
