Bhubaneswar: Former IAS officer Madhusudan Padhi formally took charge as the State Election Commissioner (SEC) of Odisha on Friday, succeeding Aditya Prasad Padhi.
Addressing the officials, Padhi emphasized the importance of dedication, honesty, and transparency in carrying out electoral duties. He urged the Commission to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and work with a sense of responsibility. “We should work in a transparent and impartial manner to win the confidence of the voters of Odisha,” he said, reinforcing his commitment to ensuring free and fair elections.
Madhusudan Padhi, a 1991-batch IAS officer, has an extensive administrative background. He previously served as the Principal Secretary to former Governor Ganeshi Lal and held key positions in several departments, including Rural Development, Information & Public Relations, Information Technology, Food Supply & Consumer Welfare, and Higher Education. His leadership extended to roles such as Chairman of Odisha Civil Supplies Corporation and Special Administrator of Kandhamal, where he played a crucial role in governance and policy implementation.
