
Bhubaneswar: As per the latest information released by the Indian Meteorological Department on Monday, a low-pressure area has been formed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea.
The system is likely to intensify into a depression on May 9 and further into a cyclonic storm over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of East Central Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea on May 10.
The Cyclonic storm will be called ‘Mocha’. As per the forecast, it is likely to move initially north-northwestwards towards east-central Bay of Bengal till May11. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve gradually and move north-northeastwards towards Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts.
