
Bhubaneswar: With Odisha grappling with a heatwave for the past few days, humans and animals are finding it hard to bear the heat. On Sunday, a leopard in the forests of Nuapada district suffered sunstroke.
The forest department officials took immediate action and saved the animal.
Some villagers spotted the leopard in the forest near Siliarbahara village and informed the forest officials.
A team from the forest department immediately rushed to the spot and provided primary treatment to the distressed animal. The leopard was later brought to Nuapada Range Office for further treatment.
“The leopard has been provided necessary treatment after thorough examination by our veterinarians. The animal is doing well now,” informed Khariar Divisional Forest Officer Sushil Kumar Tripathy.
