
Bhubaneswar: Odisha continues to experience sweltering temperatures, with Jharsuguda emerging as the hottest place in the state on Tuesday, recording a maximum temperature of 39ºC. Nine cities across the state saw temperatures soaring above 37ºC as the heatwave intensified.
According to weather scientist Umashankar Dash, Baudh recorded 38.5ºC, followed by Malkangiri at 38.4ºC, Angul at 37.9ºC, and Sambalpur and Paralakhemundi at 37.8ºC. Other areas experiencing extreme heat included Balangir (37.5ºC), Hirakud (37.1ºC), and Titlagarh (37ºC).
The capital city of Bhubaneswar saw the mercury rise to 36.4ºC, while Cuttack remained slightly cooler at 34.6ºC.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that maximum temperatures will remain largely unchanged over the next 4-5 days. Night temperatures are also expected to remain stable during this period.
