Jasmine Paolini Makes History as First Italian Woman to Reach Wimbledon Singles Final

London: Jasmine Paolini becomes the first Italian to reach the women’s singles final at Wimbledon 2024. Paolini defeated Croatian Donna Vekic 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10/8) in the longest women’s semi-final at the All England Club.

Despite losing the first set, Paolini made an incredible comeback and won the second set with 6-4. Paolini’s outstanding performance in the deciding set pushed the match into a tie-breaker, where she triumphed even after falling behind twice.
