Bangalore: Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) milestone solar mission, Aditya L1, has achieved a crucial milestone by successfully entering its final manoeuvre, propelling it into its designated orbit.
Launched on September 2 of the previous year, the spacecraft has undergone four earth-bound manoeuvres and a Trans-Lagrangean Point 1 Insertion (TL1I) manoeuvre, all of which were executed seamlessly.
The primary objective of the Aditya L1 mission is to observe the Sun’s corona and decipher the mysteries of its extreme heat. This will be achieved from a halo orbit positioned around the first Sun-Earth Lagrangian point (L1), situated approximately 1.5 million km from Earth.
