Successful Conclusion of National Role Playing and Folk Dance Competition at RIE Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar, witnessed the culmination of the four-day National Role Playing and Folk Dance Competition, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of India. Participants from 29 states, Union Territories, and four Demonstration Multipurpose schools added vibrancy to the event.

Padmashree Aruna Mohanty, President of the Odisha Dance Academy, graced the concluding session as the chief guest. She commended the organizers for the seamless execution of the competition and motivated the participating students. Mohanty emphasized the importance of embracing challenges as a key factor for success in life.

Professor Gauri Srivastava, Dean (C) & Project Coordinator, NPEP, NCERT, delivered the welcome speech during the closing ceremony. Professor Prakash Chandra Agarwal, the Principal of RIE Bhubaneswar, reiterated that the primary objective of the competition is to unearth artistic talents among secondary level students and foster the integration of arts in education.

The announcement of competition results highlighted the excellence displayed by participants. In the folk dance category, Karnataka secured the first position among states and Union Territories, followed by Uttar Pradesh in second place, and Andaman Nicobar in third. Among Demonstration Multipurpose schools, DM School, RIE Bhubaneswar claimed the top spot, with RIE Mysore securing second place and RIE Bhopal in third.

In the role-play category, Haryana bagged the first position, with West Bengal securing second place and Karnataka in third among states and Union Territories. In the DM School group for role-playing, DM School, RIE Mysore emerged victorious, followed by DM School, RIE Bhubaneswar in second place, and DM School, RIE Bhopal in third.

Dr. Harish Kumar Meena, Assistant Professor in Population Studies from NCERT, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks. The valedictory ceremony marked the conclusion of a memorable cultural extravaganza, bringing together participants from across the nation to celebrate talent and diversity. RIE Bhubaneswar extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, faculty, and guests for their enthusiastic participation and support, contributing to the success of the Four-Day National Role Play and Folk Dance Competition.
