Esbjerg, Denmark: The Indian Navy’s frontline stealth frigate, INS Tabar, commanded by Captain MR Harish, arrived at the port of Esbjerg, Denmark, for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening the bonds between the two nations and their naval forces.
During its stay, the crew of INS Tabar will engage in various professional interactions with the Danish Armed Forces, including cultural exchanges, to foster a deeper understanding and cooperation between the two navies. This visit underscores the Indian Navy’s commitment to building and enhancing partnerships with navies around the world.
The diplomatic relationship between India and Denmark is rooted in historical ties, shared democratic values, and a mutual commitment to regional and global peace and stability. The relationship was elevated to a “Green Strategic Partnership” during a virtual summit between India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Denmark’s Prime Minister Ms. Mette Frederiksen on September 28, 2020.
INS Tabar, one of the earliest stealth frigates of the Indian Navy, is equipped with a versatile array of weapons and sensors. It is a key asset of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet, based in Mumbai under the Western Naval Command. The visit to Denmark represents another step in the ongoing efforts to deepen the strategic and defense cooperation between India and Denmark.
