
Innovative Smart Food Grain Storage System Launched at Digital India FutureLABS Summit 2024
New Delhi: During the “Digital India FutureLABS Summit 2024” at IIIT-Delhi, a groundbreaking Smart Food Grain Storage System (SAFEETY) was launched. The technology, developed by SAMEER under the MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology), features conveyorized loading and unloading of grain bags with RFID for traceability, online weight and moisture measurement, and Radio Frequency-based removal of moisture from grains. This innovative system has been transferred to M/s Paras Defense and Space Technology Ltd for manufacturing and supply.
The launch event witnessed the exchange of technology transfer documents in the presence of Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti; Smt. Sunita Verma, GC R&D in E⁢ Dr P. H. Rao, DG-SAMEER; Shri Rajesh Harsh, CI, SAMEER, Mumbai; Dr Om Krishan Singh, Scientist ‘D’, MeitY; Shri Amit Mahajan, Director Paras Defense and Space Technologies Ltd, along with senior government officials.
This state-of-the-art system has the capacity to handle nearly one truckload (approximately 28 tons) of grains in just 40 minutes. The technology promises efficient and traceable grain storage, ensuring the quality and safety of food grains during the storage process. The transfer of technology to Paras Defense and Space Technology Ltd marks a significant step towards the practical implementation and deployment of this innovative solution.
