Bhubaneswar: The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to India, H.E. Ina Hagniningtyas Krisnamurthi, along with Anu Garg, IAS, Development Commissioner–cum–Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Odisha, inaugurated the refurbished Indonesian Gallery at the Odisha State Maritime Museum (OSMM), Jobra, Cuttack, on Thursday.
Located on the banks of the Mahanadi, the gallery showcases rare artifacts that narrate the centuries-old maritime and cultural bonds between Odisha and Indonesia. The refurbishment has enhanced the gallery with improved lighting, upgraded signage, and modernized preservation facilities to enrich visitor experience.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Krisnamurthi expressed gratitude for the warmth received in Odisha and noted that the renovated gallery stands as a true tribute to the enduring Odisha–Indonesia relationship.
Anu Garg appreciated the Indonesian Embassy’s continued collaboration in strengthening cultural ties and highlighted the government’s vision to further modernize the museum. She also underlined the possibility of exploring future partnerships with Indonesia and other ASEAN nations to deepen cultural exchanges.
The Odisha State Maritime Museum, a key cultural landmark, continues to symbolize the state’s rich maritime heritage and historical links across Southeast Asia.
