The discussions aimed to strategize the development of a collective NER logistics policy, aligning with the National Logistic Mission and operationalizing policies related to multimodal logistics in the NER.

Highlighting the transformative initiatives in the logistics sector, Sonowal emphasized, “India’s northeast has become front and center of New India’s growth story. The newly inaugurated Gati Shakti Chair will act as a catalyst to realize the full potential to emerge as a vital logistics hub connecting South Asia with South-East and East Asia.”

The Gati Shakti Chair initiative seeks to strengthen the collaboration between the government and academia, fostering high-quality research in integrated, multi-modal logistics, and enhancing supply chain resilience.
