Indian Railways Modernizes Bhadrak Railway Station with Yard Restructuring and 3rd Line Construction

Bhubaneswar: In a significant step toward upgrading the nation’s railway infrastructure, Indian Railways has undertaken extensive yard restructuring work at Bhadrak Railway Station, a vital hub under the East Coast Railway (ECoR) zone. This modernization initiative is part of the broader plan to enhance key railway stations across the country, aiming to improve operational efficiency and passenger experience.

Bhadrak Railway Station, crucial for both regional logistics and passenger movement, is undergoing comprehensive yard remodeling and the construction of a third line in the Bhadrak-Ranital section. This upgrade will streamline train operations, boost the station’s handling capacity, and minimize delays. As part of the restructuring, all platforms at the station will be interlocked with the third line and additional loop lines, increasing the station’s capacity to manage more trains and passengers. Additionally, the Bay Line will be shifted and extended to a full-length platform to better accommodate incoming trains. New lines are also being added to facilitate smoother train movements and reduce congestion.

The project will also improve train management at Bhadrak Railway Station, ensuring that trains can enter and exit without delays caused by bottlenecks at nearby stations. The overall goal is to ensure that operations run more efficiently, thereby reducing delays and improving punctuality for passengers.

To accommodate the ongoing work, Indian Railways has announced the temporary cancellation, partial cancellation, and diversion of several trains for a period of 10 days. This includes the cancellation of four pairs of regular Mail/Express trains, five pairs of local passenger/MEMU trains, 11 pairs of weekly trains, and three pairs of bi-weekly trains. Additionally, two pairs of trains will be partially cancelled. Passengers are advised to check the annexure for details on affected trains and plan their travel accordingly. Railways has requested cooperation from passengers, assuring that the short-term inconvenience will lead to long-term benefits.

Once the modernization is complete, passengers can expect reduced waiting times, improved logistics for goods transport, and smoother train operations. Indian Railways is committed to advancing infrastructure to meet growing passenger demand and enhance India’s logistical capabilities, both regionally and nationally.
