Indian Navy Successfully Concludes TROPEX 2025, Strengthening Maritime Security Readiness

New Delhi: The Indian Navy has successfully concluded the 2025 edition o  rill that spanned three months from January to March. The exercise served as a crucial platform for validating the Navy’s operational concepts and ensuring its combat readiness in safeguarding national maritime interests.

TROPEX 2025 featured multiple phases, including the Amphibious Exercise (AMPHEX), a Joint Work-Up Phase focused on precision targeting, Cyber and Electronic Warfare drills, and a Tactical Phase. These elements provided an in-depth assessment of the Navy’s capability to respond to diverse security challenges in a synchronized and integrated manner.

The exercise covered a vast operational area in the Indian Ocean, including the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The theatre of operations extended approximately 4,300 nautical miles from north to south, reaching up to 35 degrees south latitude, and 5,000 nautical miles from the Strait of Hormuz in the west to the Sunda and Lombok Straits in the east.

TROPEX 2025 witnessed the participation of 65-70 Indian Naval ships, 9-10 submarines, and over 80 aircraft of various types. The drill also saw extensive joint operations with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Coast Guard. Assets deployed included Sukhoi-30s, Jaguars, C-130s, Flight Refuellers, and AWACS aircraft, along with over 600 infantry troops and more than 10 Coast Guard ships, reinforcing the seamless coordination between the armed forces.

The culmination of TROPEX 2025 marked the successful execution of a rigorous operational campaign designed to evaluate the Indian Navy’s preparedness for real-world combat scenarios. The exercise demonstrated a high level of synergy in planning and executing complex theatre-level operations with other branches of the armed forces.
