Paris: The Indian mixed archery team, represented by Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara, will compete for a historic bronze medal after a narrow defeat to South Korea in the semi-finals of the Paris Olympics on Friday.

Despite their strong performance, the Indian duo lost to South Korea, resulting in an overall 2-6 defeat in the mixed team semi-finals. Bhakat and Bommadevara will now face the loser of the second semi-final between the United States and Germany for the third-place match.

India has never secured an Olympic medal in archery, making this opportunity a significant moment for the nation. The chance to claim a bronze medal brings hope and excitement to Indian archery fans and athletes alike.

Earlier in the day, Bhakat and Bommadevara showcased their skills and determination by defeating Spain in the Mixed Team quarterfinals with a score of 5-3. Their journey to the semi-finals has been marked by resilience and excellence, setting the stage for a potential historic achievement.

As India eagerly awaits the bronze medal match, the nation stands united in support of Bhakat and Bommadevara, hoping for a historic victory that will inspire future generations of Indian archers.
