Shanghai: In a spectacular display of skill and determination, the Indian men’s recurve team comprising Tarundeep Rai, Dhiraj Bommadevara, and Pravin Jadhav secured a historic gold medal victory at the World Cup Stage 1 in New Delhi on Sunday. The Indian archers stunned the reigning Olympic champion South Korea.
India showcased remarkable consistency and precision throughout the final match, outclassing their Korean rivals with a commanding 5-1 victory. The Indian team displayed exceptional focus and composure, not dropping a single set against the formidable opponents. With scores of 57-57, 57-55, and 55-53 in the three sets, India sealed their triumph, signaling their dominance in the recurve archery discipline.
In addition to the men’s recurve team’s stellar performance, the recurve mixed team of Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara added to India’s medal tally by clinching a bronze medal. The duo showcased their skill and teamwork, delivering a commendable performance to secure victory over Mexico.
