Indian men’s hockey team beats Germany by 5-4 goals to win bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics. The Indian hockey team bags a medal in hockey after 41 years.
The men in blue were down by 1-3 goals before they took charge of the situation and scored four more to take the lead. Germans tried their best to equalise but fell short of one goal. Simranjeet Singh scored two goals while Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh scored one goal each for India in this historic match.
With the bronze in hockey, India’s total medal reached 4.
India had last won a medal at Moscow Olympics in 1980 finishing at the top.
The women’s hockey team will play its bronze medal match against Great Britain tomorrow.
