New Delhi: Marking a significant advancement in the Indian Coast Guard’s (ICG) digital infrastructure, Inspector General Anand Prakash Badola, Deputy Director General (Policy & Plans) of the ICG, laid the foundation stone for the Tier-III Data Centre under Project Digital Coast Guard (DCG) on November 5, 2024, at Mahipalpur, New Delhi. The state-of-the-art data center, equipped with the latest technologies, is set to serve as a critical hub for monitoring and managing the ICG’s key applications and IT resources, supporting the operational and administrative needs of the Coast Guard.

Project DCG, led by Telecommunications Consultants India Limited, includes not only the establishment of the New Delhi Data Centre but also a “Disaster Recovery Data Centre” in New Mangalore, Karnataka, ensuring backup capabilities for uninterrupted operations. In addition, the project will enhance connectivity across all ICG locations nationwide, extending to its fleet of ships, and introduce an “Enterprise Resource Planning” (ERP) system for streamlined resource management.

The Tier-III Data Centre will enable real-time monitoring and efficient management of ICG’s digital assets, strengthening the operational backbone of the Coast Guard and supporting its mission-critical functions. This infrastructure development signifies a move towards a fully integrated and responsive digital framework within the ICG, ensuring readiness and resilience in safeguarding India’s maritime interests.
