Indian Army’s Commanders’ Conference Emphasizes Security Scenarios and Technological Advancements

New Delhi: The Army Commanders’ Conference, a biannual event, was convened in New Delhi on March 28 in virtual mode, followed by physical sessions on April 1 and 2. During this high-level gathering, the apex leadership of the Indian Army engaged in comprehensive discussions on various security aspects, including the situation along the borders, challenges faced by the security apparatus, and strategies for modernization.

One of the highlights of the conference was the address by the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, who lauded the Indian Army for its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders and combating terrorism. He commended the Army’s pivotal role in providing assistance to civil administration during times of need, emphasizing its multifaceted contributions to national security and development.

Reaffirming the faith of the nation in the Indian Army, the Raksha Mantri underscored the importance of technological advancement and innovation in enhancing the Army’s operational capabilities. He commended the Army’s efforts in embracing cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaboration with civil industries and educational institutions to achieve self-reliance in defense.

Addressing the evolving global security landscape, the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri emphasized the significance of adapting to unconventional and asymmetric warfare, including cyber and information warfare. He highlighted the need for strategic planning and synergy among armed forces to effectively counter emerging threats.

On the situation along the Northern and Western borders, the Raksha Mantri expressed confidence in the troops’ steadfastness and reiterated the government’s commitment to peaceful resolution through dialogue and de-escalation. He commended the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for its commendable efforts in improving road communication infrastructure in border areas.

Acknowledging the Army’s role in tackling cross-border terrorism, the Raksha Mantri praised the synergy between the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and police forces in maintaining stability in sensitive regions. He paid tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation and emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families.
