Cape Town: A record 23 wickets fell on the opening day of the second test between India and South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town. Opting to bat first South Africa were bowled out for a meagre 55 runs, which is the lowest for any team against India. Md Siraj scalped 6 wickets for 15 runs, as proteas could play 23 overs.
In reply, India were at one point 153 for 4, before getting all out for the same score losing 6 wickets in 11 deliveries. Seven of the Indian batters failed to score. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger took 3 wickets each to restrict the visitor’s lead to 98 runs.
