India U19 Continues Dominance in U19 World Cup with Third Consecutive Victory
Bloemfontein: In a display of stellar cricket, India’s U19 team secured their third consecutive victory at the ongoing U19 World Cup, defeating the USA by a significant margin of 201 runs in Bloemfontein. This triumph ensures India’s top position in the table ahead of the Super Six stage.
The highlight of the match was Arshin Kulkarni’s magnificent century at the top of the order. Kulkarni’s innings of 108 runs off 118 balls, featuring 8 fours and 3 sixes, laid the foundation for India’s imposing total of 326/5. The opening partnership between Adarsh Singh and Kulkarni added 46 runs, but it was the remarkable 155-run stand for the second wicket with Musheer Khan (73 off 76) that propelled India to a commanding position. Captain Uday Saharan’s contribution of 35 off 27 further solidified India’s dominance with the bat.
In response, India’s bowlers, led by Naman Tiwari (4 for 20) and Raj Limbani (1 for 17), dismantled the USA top order, reducing them to 2 for 2 within 1.2 overs. Despite a resilient effort from Utkarsh Srivastava (40) and Amogh Arepally (27*), USA could only manage to score 125 runs in 50 overs against India’s comprehensive bowling attack.
With this convincing victory, India U19 has not only maintained an unbeaten streak in the tournament but has also showcased their prowess in all aspects of the game, making them a formidable force in the U19 World Cup.
