India Celebrates International Sun Day with ‘Run for Sun’ Marathon and Solar Awareness Campaigns

New Delhi: On the occasion of International Sun Day, the Government of India reaffirmed its commitment to solar energy and environmental sustainability through a series of engaging initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the benefits of solar power. Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the nation observed this significant day with fervor and enthusiasm, emphasizing the pivotal role of solar energy in combating climate change and building a cleaner, healthier future.

One of the key highlights of the celebrations was the ‘Run for Sun’ Marathon held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The marathon, featuring 3 km and 5 km races, drew participants from all walks of life, symbolizing the nation’s collective dedication to promoting renewable energy solutions. Speaking at the event, Shri Bhupinder S.
