Scope and Objectives of the Indo-WIPO Joint Program

The Indo-WIPO Joint Program aims to achieve several key objectives:

  • Global Expansion of AIM Programs: Implementing key AIM initiatives, such as the Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) and Atal Incubation Centers (AIC), in countries of the Global South and those in transition, tailored to specific national needs.
  • Enhancing IPR Understanding: Improving awareness and knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students, teachers, innovators, and entrepreneurs in India.
  • Promoting IPR for Economic Growth: Increasing understanding of the importance of IPR for development and economic growth, considering the educational and training needs of the target groups.
  • Building a Network of Trainers: Establishing a network of trainers in innovation, creativity, and IP.
  • Familiarizing Beneficiaries with Innovation Theories: Educating beneficiaries and learners about theories of innovation and creativity.

The collaborative effort between WIPO and AIM-NITI Aayog will involve structuring programs to export India’s successful innovation models to other countries. Both organizations will work together on designing and implementing various IP training and capacity-building programs, taking into account the specific needs of the target ecosystems and conducting preliminary needs assessments.
