
Bhubaneswar: Strengthening the collaboration between academia, industry, and government entities, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on Tuesday.
This strategic partnership aims to foster growth and mutual development by initiating new research projects in the realms of Standardisation, Conformity Assessment, and Quality Processes. The collaboration will also explore avenues for introducing short-term education programs, enhancing infrastructure, and upgrading laboratory facilities to facilitate extensive research, teaching, and education in areas related to standardisation.
The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Professor Ashish Ghosh, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, and A. K. Purohit, Director of the Bhubaneswar branch. Dibyendu Chakrabarty, Scientist- G & Deputy Director General, Eastern Region, joined the event in online mode. Chakrabarti emphasized the growing necessity for such collaborations to generate awareness and interest in these critical areas, citing previous successful partnerships with IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur.
Professor Ghosh, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, underscored the fresh perspectives that young students can bring to these research domains, contributing to the knowledge production process. This collaboration is poised to create a conducive environment for impactful research initiatives and innovation.
