HPCL and NLDS Collaborate to Boost Transparency and Efficiency in Logistics Sector
New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has entered into a strategic agreement with NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd. (NLDS) to integrate its Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP). This partnership aims to revolutionize India’s logistics landscape by improving transparency, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving innovation.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD of NICDC and Chairman of NLDS, and Avinash Jain, Chief General Manager, North Zone, HPCL. The signing ceremony featured Girish Kumar Supur, CEO of NLDS, and Ms. Anju Jai Misra, General Manager, Delhi Retail Region, HPCL.
The integration of HPCL’s APIs into ULIP provides critical functionalities such as Fuel Station & Pricing Visibility, enabling real-time information on the location and pricing of HPCL fuel stations across the country. This feature is expected to tackle logistical challenges like unclear refueling options and fluctuating fuel costs, offering transporters, traders, and logistics service providers the tools to optimize their routes and operations.
By streamlining fuel station visibility, the collaboration is poised to minimize unplanned stops, ensure efficient long-haul planning, and reduce downtime. Logistics operators can now make informed decisions about refueling, ensuring cost savings and timely deliveries.
Speaking at the event, Rajat Kumar Saini highlighted the transformative potential of this integration, stating, “The integration of HPCL’s APIs into ULIP equips logistics operators with data-driven insights that directly enhance their efficiency and profitability. Route-specific fuel cost analysis and real-time station visibility address major pain points in the logistics sector, aligning with ULIP’s mission to unify and digitize India’s supply chain.”
Avinash Jain, representing HPCL, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to leveraging technology to deliver innovative solutions for the logistics industry. “This collaboration demonstrates HPCL’s focus on supporting India’s logistics operators by providing actionable insights and reliable data,” he said.
The initiative is already yielding results, as over 10 participants in the ongoing ULIP Hackathon 2.0 have adopted HPCL’s API to develop cutting-edge solutions. These include dynamic route optimization tools, fuel cost calculators, and heat maps showcasing fuel station density along key routes. Such innovations underscore the potential of the API to drive cost-efficiency and innovation within the logistics ecosystem.
The partnership between HPCL and NLDS signifies a shared vision for creating a smarter and more efficient logistics environment. By providing real-time data and seamless access to critical resources, this integration promises to empower stakeholders, enhance operational efficiency, and position India’s logistics sector for sustained growth.
