
The 17-years Miram Taron who had gone missing from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh has finally returned to his state
On Thursday, People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China handed-over Taron to the Indian Army at Wacha-Damai interaction point in Arunachal Pradesh.
Union Minister of Law & Justice, Kiren Rijiu through a tweet informed about him. “The Chinese PLA has handed over the young boy from Arunachal Pradesh Shri Miram Taron to the Indian Army. Due procedures are being followed including the medical examination,” he wrote in his tweet.
In a second tweet he further wrote, “The Chinese PLA handed over the young boy from Arunachal Pradesh Shri Miram Taron to Indian Army at WACHA-DAMAI interaction point in Arunachal Pradesh today. I thank our proud Indian Army for pursuing the case meticulously with PLA and safely securing our young boy back home Flag of India.”
A native of Zido Village in Upper Siang district, Taron went missing across the LAC a few days back. It has been alleged that he was kidnapped on January 19 from Lungta Jor area under Siyungla area of Upper Siang district.
BJP MP from Arunachal East, Tapir Gao had claimed that the Chinese Army abducted the minor boy from inside Indian territory. According to him, the incident took place near the place where the Tsangpo river enters in Arunachal Pradesh. Gao has further stated that Taron’s friend Johny Yaiying managed to escape and informed the authorities about the kidnapping by the PLA.
The Indian Army contacted Chinese counterpart to help in locating the boy. On January 22, PLA informed that Taron has been located and soon the procedure to bring him back began.
