New Delhi: Covishield and Covaxin will now be available in hospitals and clinics as the Drug Controller General of India on Thursday has given approval for its for sale in the market.
The market sale of the two vaccines was approved under the New Drugs and Clinical Trials Rules, 2019.
The expert committee of the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation has earlier recommended granting regular market approval to these Covid-19 vaccines for the adult population, subject to certain conditions.
However, the approval doesn’t mean that the two drugs used for Covid-19 vaccination will be available in the medical stores, rather one can purchase the drugs from hospitals and clinics only.
