New Delhi: Hockey India takes pride in announcing a commendable cash reward of ₹3 Lakhs per player and ₹1.5 Lakhs for each support staff member as a token of appreciation for the Indian Women’s Team’s exceptional performance and clinching the Silver medal at the Inaugural FIH Hockey5s Women’s World Cup.

Despite the challenging loss to the Netherlands by 2-7 in the Final, the Indian Women’s Hockey Team displayed immense grit and determination throughout the tournament. Jyoti Chhatri (20’) and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (23’) showcased their skill and resilience by contributing to India’s scoresheet. On the other hand, Janneke van de Venne (2’, 14’), Bente van der Veldt (4’, 8’), Lana Kalse (11’, 27’), and Sosha Benninga (13’) were instrumental in the Netherlands’ victory.

Janneke van de Venne’s long-range shot, deflected off Indian Goalkeeper Rajani Etimarpu, resulted in the first goal for the Netherlands. Bente van der Veldt swiftly followed, doubling the lead with a well-placed shot. The Netherlands continued their dominance, with Bente van der Veldt scoring her second and Lana Kalse adding to the tally.

Despite the defeat, Hockey India recognizes the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship displayed by the Indian Women’s Hockey Team in reaching the final of the FIH Hockey5s Women’s World Cup 2024.
