Hockey India Announces 28-Member Core Probable Group for Senior Men’s National Coaching Camp

New Delhi: Hockey India has unveiled the 28-member core probable group for the senior men’s national coaching camp, set to take place from April 21 to May 31 at the SAI Centre in Bengaluru. The camp holds significant importance as India gears up to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The announcement comes following the team’s return from a five-match Test series in Australia. Following this camp, the team will embark on tours to Belgium and London for the next two legs of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023/24, where they will face stiff competition against Argentina, Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain.

The core group of the National Coaching Camp comprises goalkeepers Krishan Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera, and defenders Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, and Amir Ali.

In the midfield department, the camp will feature Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem, Shamsher Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, Rajkumar Pal, and Vishnukant Singh.

The list of forwards includes Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Abhishek, Dilpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Mohammed Raheel Mouseen, Boby Singh Dhami, and Araijeet Singh Hundal.

Highlighting the significance of the upcoming camp, Indian Men’s Hockey Team Chief Coach Craig Fulton remarked, “We are embarking on an important block of training in this camp, aiming to ensure that we are in peak condition ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. We have a dynamic mix of experienced players and promising youngsters.”

Fulton added, “The recent tour to Australia provided valuable insights into areas where we need improvement. I firmly believe that by addressing our weaknesses early on, we can set ourselves on the right path ahead of the final leg of the Pro League and the Paris 2024 Olympics.”
