Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj Lays Foundation Stone for PM-USHA Project in Nuapada

Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards strengthening higher education in the region, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj laid the foundation stone for a Rs 5 crore project under the PM-USHA scheme at Khariar Autonomous College today. The initiative is designed to enhance educational infrastructure and ensure students receive access to quality learning environments.

Speaking at the event, Suraj emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming higher education by upgrading the foundational framework of colleges and universities. He said, “Our goal is to bring a transformative change in higher education by strengthening the foundation of colleges and universities to ensure students receive quality education.”

The occasion was particularly historic as it marked the first visit by a Higher Education Minister to Khariar Autonomous College in 47 years. Students and faculty expressed their excitement and optimism, seeing the event as a milestone moment in the institution’s journey.

During the visit, Suraj also inaugurated newly constructed academic facilities, developed with World Bank assistance, showcasing the government’s focus on fostering quality education through improved infrastructure. The Minister met with college authorities to discuss the overall development of the institution and encouraged students to strive for academic excellence, highlighting the importance of education in shaping a brighter future.

The event witnessed the presence of MLA Khariar Adhiraj Panigrahi, Former MP Basant Kumar Panda, and College Principal Prashant Kumar Panda, alongside other dignitaries, faculty members, and students.

Suraj’s visit to Nuapada included several activities aimed at addressing local needs and engaging with the community. He participated in a grievance hearing to address public concerns, attended a local cricket tournament to inspire young athletes, and took part in district-level programs that emphasized the importance of holistic development.
