Bhubaneswar: The fervent campaigning for the second phase of elections for the Lok Sabha and State Assembly in Odisha will come to an end today. The elections, scheduled for Monday, will cover 35 State Assembly constituencies under five Lok Sabha constituencies: Bargarh, Sundargarh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, and Aska.
With all preparations in their final stages, polling parties have already begun arriving at their respective booths. The election authorities have ensured that all necessary arrangements are in place to facilitate smooth and fair voting. Security measures have been heightened across the constituencies to ensure a peaceful election process.
The first phase of elections saw a robust voter turnout, and similar enthusiasm is expected in the second phase. The Election Commission has made comprehensive arrangements to handle the large number of voters, including setting up additional polling booths and ensuring adequate manpower.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, contesting from the Hinjili Assembly constituency under the Aska Lok Sabha constituency, has been a significant figure in Odisha’s politics for over two decades. His participation adds a notable dimension to the electoral dynamics of this phase.
Polling will commence early on Monday, and the Election Commission has urged all eligible voters to exercise their franchise responsibly. The results of this phase are eagerly awaited and will be closely watched by political observers and the public alike.
